Katie and Orson are such a dreaaaaaam together. They are both quick-witted, funny, intelligent, goofy stoners. Katie works in comedy and theatre, and Orson is a writer/director. Katie and I found each other through a group for women in comedy, and we quickly hit it off. She mentioned they were getting married at the Houdini Estate (!!!) and it was a no-brainer match — I’m the photographer for them!
For their engagement session, we headed to a location near and dear to Orson’s heart: Vaszquez Rocks in the Sierra Pelona Mountains, northern LA county. This place has been a not-so-secret filming location for Star Trek, Western movies, and tons of other features, including Orson’s own project that was filmed there a few years ago. We headed out just before magic hour, and boy when that magic hour hit… what can I say? It was magic.
